Publisher's Synopsis
Eighteen year-old Niru Peralta dreams of big things in her life. She wants to live the kind of life someone will write stories about after she's gone. Someone that people will look back on and think, she was an incredible woman. She dreams about anything more exciting than her monotonous job at the library or her distant family at home. When she stumbles on a book that doesn't belong on the shelves she spends her days organizing, Niru thinks it might just be her ticket out of her boring, ordinary life. Signs point to the book being connected to the infamous Fighters Project, and Niru finds herself in a situation where her life might be on the line. She teams up with a malfunctioned bot, who claims to be an original Fighter, in order to stay alive. Will being with him help keep her alive while she digs for the truth about the Fighters, or will his presence in her life cause her even more danger?
