Publisher's Synopsis
Professor Dorrance James Hill is the father of the 'Fourth Dimension Art Movement' in America. It all started when professor Hill said to me: "Shahid you're breaking new ground in the visual arts you are what I call a 'Fourth Dimension Artist. And that was the naming of a new movement that continue to grow within the World of African American Art. At the time I had no idea what this new concept meant or how I was breaking new ground in the arts. At the time I was sculpting a piece called 'Toll Booth' I was creating from a store professor Hill told me about dealing with police miss conduct. It was professor Hill's vision that created the naming of the visual narrative being developed. He said it came out of the determination of the African American Artist to document the African American Cultural struggles for existence, against the physical brutality we face as a people from a so-called white American society determined to deny our Human Right. It was a mentally and Physically challenging struggle just to survive. 'Fourth Dimension Art' is the art of Survival! This book is the beginning of the documentation of the works of Artist who are a part of this 'Fourth Dimension Art Movement. Shahid Al-Bilali
