Publisher's Synopsis
This book is written in response to the intellectual yearnings of our age when ideological and religious claims are fast overtaking their integrity. Today, we are living in an era when genuine religiosity is muddled up with psycho-tyrannic inclinations and often presented to the world as religious convictions and worst still, exercised as religious liberty. So, it has become necessary to state categorically that human beings are not condemned to violence. Violence is not innate in human beings neither is it a religious virtue. It is rather, a learned behavior which is surmountable especially when reason and human empathy is given a chance to control our passions and over-stressed exuberances. In view of these therefore, this book is written to underscore the socio-political, religious and psychological implications involved in the recent activities of the religious terrorists and of cause, it offers the rest of us an in-depth insight or clue on how to circumvent the malicious intents of these violent perpetrators who nefariously hijack the vulnerability of religious tenets as a way of venting out their vituperative ambitions.
