ABOUT THE AUTHOR: English journalist and author Joseph Smith Fletcher (1863-1935) wrote more than 200 books, fiction and non-fiction. He was born in West Yorkshire. His first books published were poetry but he also wrote historical fiction and history. In 1914, Fletcher wrote his first detective novel, featuring the private investigator Ronald Camberwell.
