The Saga of the Standish Dynasty. The Dynasty builds on the success of the artist, Dame Sarah Standish, her husband Peter, and their stately home, Oddsmore Hall. They establish the Clairvoyant Collective Company Ltd. and diversify into the restaurant and hotel business by building a restaurant in the grounds.Some skulduggery by old enemies results in drugs being hidden in the woods behind Oddsmore Hall, where they are discovered by the gardeners. The drug pusher returns and sets fire to the restaurant, destroying it. The wave of sympathy from around the world cause it to be rebuilt and more restaurants added, this entry into the catering market causing concern to Lord Bollard, the head of Kwiksnak Chicken, a major international fast food chain. Then The Collective buys out the ALFA chain of supermarkets, and Bollard sees the Collective's retail aspects become a direct challenge to his near-monopoly in fast food. This concern gradually develops into hostility as the Collective's influence spreads. It also charts the early years of the Standish heir.
