Publisher's Synopsis
After graduating from college in 1971, the author had a degree in literature, a backpack and a strong desire to explore. His journey began with more questions than answers and his travels turned out to be rich in multiple ways. The book is a description of the times, a portrait of wonderful pockets of people in diverse places, and a story about a young person using trial and error to discover himself. Images of an Odyssey is a presentation of a series of simple images that fit neatly together. In telling the story, the author has tried to stay true to Wallace Stevens's concept of not presenting ideas about the thing, but the thing itself.
