Mark Harrow is a new private investigator in search of a breakout case. He finds one in his latest client and embarks on an investigative adventure that brings him romance, intrigue, suspicion, confusion, and ultimately success.Jeffrey Torrance has been killed in a plane crash and Winston T. Harcourt, III wants to know who killed Torrance and why. Harrow is hired because he used to work for Torrance and Harcourt thinks there is an advantage to hiring an investigator who has personal knowledge of the victim. Harcourt has other reasons for hiring an inexperienced investigator, but he does not share them with Harrow.Harrow reluctantly accepts the case, and with the help of his best friend, Larry Rivers, sets out to begin his first murder investigation. As would be expected of a rookie investigator, Harrow stumbles along the way and he falls victim to manipulation.His perseverance, however, sustains him, and with the help of friends and an unexpected romance, he manages to uncloak an elaborate scheme and expose a diabolical murderer.
