Publisher's Synopsis

A story about a man finding himself alone on a mountain and finding himself. At the age 18 he felt that the mountains were calling him. With his love of skiing and climbing and without much training, he managed to successfully climb many of the Cascade mountains in Washington State. Later he joined the Seattle Mountaineers and took the basic climbing course to become a certified climb leader. He later enrolled in the Intermediate climbing course.

After years of leading successful climbs up Mt Baker, Glacier Peak and Mt Rainier, he and his climbing partner started a climbing guide service. In the years that followed, a tragic accident on Glacier Peak brought him down to earth and he thought he had lost his love of climbing forever. But the mountains kept calling. Later on, a reoccurring spiritual dream made him pick up his ice axe, and once again he began a quest to attempt to understand what it was that was calling him back to the mountains. After experiencing an unexplainable event and witnessing a bad accident on Mt Rainier he gave up on life and wanted to become part of the mountain he loved so much. But the mountain was not ready for him. Writing was something that he was never interested in, but after four decades of climbing and writing down the stories of his life adventures in the mountains, (prompted by his mother), he compiled them into this book.
