Publisher's Synopsis
Based on a true story, little Antonio was born on an idyllic island called Huañape, off the coast of South America. Because of their forbidden love, his parents had to escape from society's rules, hiding in an island with the sole company of millions of birds, sea-lions, whales, dolphins, and their real and pure love. Antonio spent his infancy and childhood feeding the countless birds, playing with the frolicking dolphins, and watching the sea lions roll on the golden sand. Nature is his only companion and teacher. But one day, on his sixth birthday, his parents decide that Antonio must enroll in school so that he can have a future. The time has come for them to return to society. It will then be up to Antonio to discover his true calling in life. Torn between nature and culture, Antonio calls upon the teachings of nature, again and again, to guide him towards a life of authenticity and genuine happiness, in the "Island of Concrete," as he calls the city where he will grow and learn about the society of humans.
