Publisher's Synopsis

Since the Reformation in England men have had access to the scriptures and were able to read for themselves the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. These scripture were able to free men from the bondage of Rome and give light as to the way of salvation through Christ alone. In the early Church there were men who taught the Law of Moses must be kept in order to be saves but the Apostle Paul stepped in to show clearly that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was the rule not life for the believer and not the Law of Moses. A conflict arose among those who advanced certain days were to be kept holy and their views were to bind others to their practice. This book seek to take the reader through the developments in Articles of religion since the early 17 Century, stating with the first London Baptist Confession 2nd Edition 1646, through to the Gospel Standard Articles of 1878. These has continued in the Christian world conflicting views on the Sabbath and this book sees to identify the development of thinking among those seeking to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Col. 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
