This little book is designed for both teachers and pupils - as a sort of a supplement of ordinary school histories, not with a view of supplanting any in use, but to fix on the mind what is most vital and important in the history of civilization. It may be found useful, especially in reviews and examinations. There may be some question as to dates, but the authorities differ. In attempting to compress the salient points of the history of the world within less than two thousand questions and answers, some slight errors are probable; but these will not affect the general value of the book, which it is believed by the author to be unique, and on which much time and labor have been spent.
