Besides these connections, he had others which called for less exertion, like the Board of Over seers of Harvard College to which he was elected about this time, the Boston Library of which he was a'trustee as he was shortly afterward of the Fellowes Athenaeum in Roxbury, the Massachu setts Historical Society in which he was a member of the Library Committee, the American Anti quarian Society in which he was still a member of the Council, the lately formed Examiner Club with which he dined and talked monthly, and other less formal organizations. He also found time for preaching at the theaters or out of town, for lec tures either in Boston or in towns round about.
