Salem Lutheran Church is a mission congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for people experiencing poverty. At Salem, people come together across lines of socioeconomic class and race, which is arguably some of the most important work that must be done in America today. This volume of sermons is intended to raise awareness about Salem and its good work. It is also believed that encountering Biblical texts in the context of Salem helps to shed some different light on them.
