Here is an excerpt from "Love In Unexpected Places. "Thomas called a local flower shop to find out how much a dozen roses would cost him. He wanted to make an impression without scaring her away and he knew that this was the best way to get her attention at least in the way he understood. In the past Thomas remembered that he had messed up and sent 5 dozen roses to one girl before meeting her in person. He knew five dozen roses was too much but he did not know if a dozen roses would be enough. He went with his better judgement and decided that a dozen would be perfect for the occasion. Thomas did not understand the concept of a flower shop. He thought he could ask them if a dozen roses was too much for a first date and they of course said no not at all. They were not about to try and talk him out of sending a dozen roses. That is how they made their money. Thomas then took it upon himself to find out what school Melanie taught at. He then told the flower shop the address of the school and what room she was teaching in. He was about to take a bold step in telling Melanie that he liked her and this was a bold step that he had failed with many times before. He began to worry about failing again but he was so determined to try and get someone to like him that he was willing to keep trying anything and everything even if it meant striking out time and time again. It was only a day later after talking to Melanie on the phone when Thomas had the roses delivered. He could not sleep the night before because he was so excited and anxious about giving her the flowers. He just wanted her to be happy and he wanted her to be able to enjoy and appreciate the flowers. Would Melanie accept his roses? Or would it freak her out and would Thomas scare away yet another woman."
