Riki Ward is the only female cop in Huntsville. She gets along well with her male co-workers because she fits in as one of the guys. Her divorce left her feeling bitter about relationships so she has chosen to not get involved with men. She finds that most men are scared off by her dark secret so she intends to live her life alone. She and a co-worker were having coffee one morning to pass the time when they were called out on an accident with injuries. When they arrive at the scene they find Ronald Ashby is deceased and pinned inside his vehicle. Gary Adams is unconscious and appears to have a head injury. Gary is transported to the Huntsville Medical Center Emergency Room. Gary Adams is an Olympic Champion and professional baseball player. When he is involved in a head-on collision with Ronald Ashby he is transported to the emergency room where Officer Riki Ward pays him a visit. He is attracted to Riki and makes a mental note to ask her out at a later date. He wonders what lies beneath that uniform. Riki has done her investigation and sees that Ronald Ashby came across the center line and struck Gary Adams head on. She plans to do a report and close the case when she discovers that Ronald was poisoned. Suddenly she has a murder case on her hands. Who would want to kill a70 year old man, and why?
