Publisher's Synopsis
Lance Winter is a twelve year old Native American boy. He lives with his family in the city of Dover, Ohio in east central Ohio. He and his sister begin a journey to learn more about their Shawnee heritage. They become dancers and experience the fun of powwows and competitive dancing. Lance is taken on several trip to the forest to study nature. He also learns about the old way of the Indians. He experiences his rite of passage task. He and some friends go camping in the Wayne Nation Forest and become involved with the capture of a wanted animal poacher with the help of some unexpected friends. The Native Americans try to get along with all living things especially one another and the animals. Follow Lance as he learns about his Native Shawnee Heritage and how to become one with the animals.
