Publisher's Synopsis

Roy Kouski served in the army during WWIII. During his time overseas, he served in France and in Germany. He was part of many dangerous missions, he even led some of them! While in Germany, his unit liberated a work camp called Wöbbelin. Their orders were to free the prisoners, and send them to a displaced persons camp so that they could be helped. This was a difficult task, as the prisoners didn't trust Roy and his unit. With the help of a 12-year-old boy named Paul who spoke several languages, Roy was able to explain what was happening so the prisoners would go to the displaced persons camp. Paul had wanted to stay with Roy and his unit, but Roy sent him with the other prisoners for his own safety. Every day Roy wonders where Paul is now, so that he could apologize, and explain why he had to send him with the others.
