New telecommunications company, 'fiVe', wants its name to be on everyone's lips, and top ad agency Collards is commissioned. The 'fiVe' Show is born and Saturday night television would never be the same again, as the one million pound prize makes the show essential viewing for a nation. Customers flock to be involved, and human nature throws up a colourful array of complications. Journalist Rip Heggity thrusts himself into the ensuing chaotic melee, but what he uncovers is not what he expects. This is not just a simple game with winners and losers. There is a lot more at stake, and the involvement of sinister entities means finding the truth is far from simple.
