Publisher's Synopsis
In Rhillai, there is no High King. The nine dukes fight amongst themselves for the coveted seat. The mage Alisandra plots to put a puppet on the throne, someone that she can control. In her attempt to rule all of Rhillai, she opens a Gate to another world and brings in the Hylnan, an alien race bent on destroying everything in sight. The Hylnan have started their destructive march into Rhillai, killing everything in their path. The duchies still war with each other. The dwarven settlements are scattered. The elves are a mysterious race that keep to themselves. The Warders, long tasked by the elves to protect the magical gates, are faced with abandoning their duty in an effort to survive the war. For all living on Rhillai, the Hylnan War has arrived and a common enemy binds unlikely people, or even unlikely beings, into becoming allies. The fate of them all rests in the hands of only a few. This is Book One of the Hylnan War trilogy.
