Publisher's Synopsis
Laura loved the art of storytelling and she wanted to be a writer more than anything else. But her father - the owner of a publishing firm - refused to publish her book claiming she wasn't ready. Determined, Laura made a deal with her father's arch-rival. The resulting animosity split the family into familiar sides. Complications arose resulting in a double murder to which Laura became the primary suspect. She needed someone to defend her, to stand in her corner and plead her case. But the only one she could trust was her Uncle Carl Doty. But how was an out-of-state detective going to adequately defend her?
