Where facets of the story are based on actual events by various persons in the group, there is no one person this story is about. The author, Steven Lee Douglas, himself a resident of Chicago during this period, used many of the places he knew as a boy to help make the story of Benjamin as real as possible for the reader's enjoyment. The story is about the turbulent relationship between a father and son over a period of 50 years.Questions to the Author welcome at [email protected].
