Two boys in Asteronga decide to steal a rabbit and witness a man murdering his wife. The same two boys later cripple whom they somehow think is a molester of children. A small girl becomes obsessed with her own private cemetery for animals. A middle aged woman feels responsible for an abandoned graveyard and ends up taking the bones of the dead home with her. A teenage girl outshines her brothers in every way and disappears without a trace. Four teenagers try to swim across a murky lake and only three reach the other shore. A boy falls in love with a girl who vanishes in a snowstorm on Lovers Lane. A high school prostitute is rescued by a boy out for a joy ride and disappears in the woods outside of town. And when Uncle Artie dies, the only way the family will see him buried is in the dead of a night.
