Publisher's Synopsis

Charlie Peterton and Carol Pearson lived in the same apartment complex in Houston, rode the same commuter train and worked in adjoining buildings in downtown Houston; however, no two people could be more unlike one another. Charlie was a book editor who in his mid thirties collected fertility gods and studied the commonality of their history. Carol was known as "Fast Carol" not because of her sexual prowess but the fact that she raced funny cars along with her father growing up. A dead battery put the two commuters in contact with one another, and an outright lie by Carol to her mother who was always trying to set her up with some guy or another put Charlie and Carol together for photos at New Year's Eve to prove to her mother that she did have a boyfriend back in Houston. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Posing for a photograph to prove the lie to her mother, Carol had Charlie kiss her like he meant it. All two hundred and some off fertility gods took over Carol's mind and the woman found herself in the throws of honest to goodness love! Three days later they eloped to Vegas to get married. Nine months later five girls were born to Fast Carol. That was only the beginning of a run through the alphabet of children's names for the couple and her best friend also having fallen under the spell of the goddess Venus and her alter personalities. In all of this reproductive mayhem the sexual situations are handled discretely and with humor. This is not an excuse for pornographic entertainment as could well be the case given the subject matter. It's designed for teens. No fertility goddesses were worshipped in the writing of this book.
