In the early sixteenth century Spanish explorers encountered, and ultimately defeated, the powerful Inca empire of Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru. This is a close up look at some of the influential people who, though on the sidelines of history, nevertheless played a pivotal role in that conquest. While the story is fictional, it relies on historical fact to show how events might have played out. Who can say? Perhaps it isn't fiction after all.
