Publisher's Synopsis
It's 1926. In New York City, speakeasies flourish and flappers kick up their heels. In rural South Dakota, Lila marries the high-strung Fischer who is two steps ahead of the law. On their one-way honeymoon trip to Montana, the roadster breaks down, signaling the beginning of a very bumpy ride. Lila will soon have to make a choice between the role of unhappy housewife or a life of her own. This is a tale harsh as a prairie winter with glimmers of unconditional love as satisfying as a Montana summer evening.
