Publisher's Synopsis

Jill Freeman is a single parent of six year old Josie. She is struggling to hold down two jobs, and give her daughter the life Jill feels she deserves in Corpus Christy, Texas. Just when things are about to completely spin out of control for Jill, she meets Evelyn Harrison, a dynamo of a woman who rescues Jill from pending homelessness. Jill becomes Evelyn's personal assistant, and life begins to improve. Just when she thinks things couldn't get any better, Evelyn's son Doug enters the picture. Doug is also a single parent of a six year old daughter. He lives in Minnesota, but visits often. Eventually, he and Jill become good friends, bonding over being single parents of small daughters. When his child care situation falls apart, he implores his mother to return home to Minnesota. Because he is a pilot for a private jet company, he often needs overnight care for his daughter. Evelyn, Jill, and Josie move to Minnesota to help take care of his daughter Maddie. As Doug and Jill grow closer, they realize that in order for them to marry and create the complete family they desire, they will have to faces the ghosts of their pasts. This would include solving the mystery of Doug's ex-wife's strange disappearance, and Jill confronting the vicious wealthy family of Josie's father.
