Publisher's Synopsis
Can someone be overcome with joy and cry at the same time? Private detective Phyllis Ludwigsohn could. Havana's Captain of Police Chara Castro was to visit the United States after an absence of more than a decade. They would spend the visit and the rest of their lives lying side by side in bed each night, arms around each other. Only as Phyllis accompanied Chara on the mission that had brought her to America, from San Diego, to Phoenix, to Gallop N.M, to Chicago, New Orleans, Miami, and then Washington D.C., bodies kept popping up. The various factions of emigrant Cubans were at war. When the FBI finally got involved, they found the one thing the murders all had in common was the presence at the murder scene of a beautiful Cuban woman, and an equally tall American female whom the many witnesses all had trouble describing.
