Publisher's Synopsis
The Christian Church commonly assumes that Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of sins. This book asks and answers the question, "What would the death of Jesus on the cross have meant to a first century Jewish believer in the Messiah?" In this study of the meaning of the cross from a Hebraic perspective, we discover that the cross event is not about forgiveness of sin but rather about reconciling the entire universe by removing the defilement of death.
