Blaine and his mother continue to live with Uncle ABE. They plan to make Monfield their permanent home. Blaine is determined to convince his mother to build a log cabin on Uncle ABE's property. New friendships emerge, as old ones are put to the test. Blaine's mother and Mr. B begin to develop a strong friendship. Tommy begins to hang with the wrong crowd. This means Blaine and the others are faced with losing one of their best friends. As the basketball season winds down, and baseball/softball season is just around the corner, Blaine and his friends find themselves amidst another "historical" figure. Frank James, a dead ringer for Benjamin Franklin, is a brilliant scientist as well as the coach of the Monfield Red baseball team. His political fairness leads him to run for town mayor against an arrogant former mayor. Frank's scientific ingenuity and experiments lead Blaine and Jayla on a real adventure! Or is it real at all?
