Jesus' final assignment to his disciples, and to us, was to spread the gospel. The early apostles set about planting churches and it follows that this would continue to be the logical way for us to accomplish our assignment. The leaders of many Christian denominations have shown a renewed interest in starting new churches. In the middle of all of this church planting activity is the glaring reality that most new church plants fail in the first three years. It is not in God's interest to allow these church plants to fail, yet most do. If God wants them to succeed, but they fail, what could be the reason? This book attempts to answer that question.
