Publisher's Synopsis

Penelope's world turns upside-down with the arrival of the circus in her normally quiet village of Green Oaks. Just in case that's not exciting enough, it's also her ninth birthday!

When a monkey escapes from the circus and gets into a tangle with one of Penelope's friends, the circus owner invites them all to see the show-for free. All of Penelope's dreams come true when she is chosen to participate in one of the circus's most exciting acts.

But trouble strikes when the lions get out of their enclosure and the elephant trainer mysteriously goes missing, threatening the entire circus. Will the show be able to go on? With the help of Dinty the leprechaun, Penelope and her new friends are sure to have their hands full.

About the Author:

Kathleen has been writing since she was a little girl. Growing up in Ireland, she was regaled with the legends woven into the histories of the castles, the Giant's Causeway, the leprechauns, and little people. When her children came along, she wrote lullabies, poems and stories to enchant and entertain them. She hopes that Penelope will entertain beginning readers and adults alike.
