When Tanning Masters is taken in by Sir Wilfred Masters, he is trained to be a business accountant in England-but a grand adventure awaits him far beyond England's shores. As Tan grows up, he is sent first to France, and then to a remote trading post in Rupert's Land to work for the Hudson's Bay Company. In the rough Canadian West, Tan's skills as a gunsmith and blacksmith prove useful. About the Author
E.R. Nicodemus was born in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. His hobbies include pioneering and canoeing, and he holds a diploma in Forestry Technology. His cultural and linguistic studies of indigenous peoples during missions training has helped him in his twenty-five years of experience. His home is in Moncton, New Brunswick.
