We were HS Sweethearts. We went together for three years-for all other students we were clearly "an item"-she wanted to get married, but I had barely learned how to shave-so after a year at Wichita U, while she finished her senior year-[she is almost a year to the day younger than me-her birthday is on April 11, and mine is on the 18th-but since I wasn't ready to get married, I broke up with her-Fast forward 60 years-she married someone else, as did I-she had 4 children, and I had three-over the years I wanted to call her to apologize, but mostly just to be civil-and this past December 18, 2012 I did call her-incidentally, I knew none of the above, and for all I knew she could be dead-the first words out of her mouth were "You must be kidding"---and in short, we started exchanging emails [the content of this book] and talked on the phone a few times-And on April 11, 2013, and we have not seen each other even once in those 60 years, I am going to California to help celebrate her 78th birthday....
