Publisher's Synopsis
A vivid dream brings this sci-fi story to life when Laurel and her family take a day vacation into a vacation of mega proportions involving a tsunami. Along Oregon's coast is some of the loveliest seas of the world. So riveting and beautiful are these areas that when the actual tsunami hit Japan in March 11, 2011, the impact on Oregon and the seas surrounding it became polarized in a radiation zone of concern that would last far into the next millennium. The radioactive waste and debris from Fukushima, Japan where the radioactive debris and nuclear power plants became disabled, would find their way into the seas around the world and especially affect the west coast of the United States. Fishing and sea animals were also affected as a result of the nuclear accident following the tsunami that day. With San Onefre in the southern coast of California suffering from normal use and frequent rattling from earthquakes, new radioactive problems have emerged along with nuclear waste concerns as it leaks from pipes and other areas in older nuclear power plants such as these.
