Publisher's Synopsis
This edition is the same as the English version, except the language is in Simplified Chinese. Emperor Zoe paid a pilgrimage to the temple of Goddess Woman Wa. Dazzled by the beauty of her icon, he fell in love with her. To express his lewd desire, he left a poem on the walls of the temple wishing to have her in his harem. Goddess Woman Wa assigned a female fox elf to destroy the empire. The elf took over the body of Dar Gee, the beautiful daughter of a powerful lord under Zoe and became Zoe's favorite woman. She schemed the murder of the formal queen, the daughter of one of four highest ranking Dukes, and she became the queen. Zoe tricked the four Dukes to the capital and executed two, including the father of the murdered queen. Heirs of the two murdered Dukes then mutinied and started rebellion. Jiang Sarn, a Taoist from Sect Eulicidatus, was sent to the human world to prepare for a full scale revolution. Jiang became the prime minister under Duke West of the powerful Zhou Fiefdom. Zoe sent a warrior-Taoist, Imperial Teacher Wen of the Taoist Sect Interceptus to subdue Duke West, but he suffered defeat. Interceptus sent disciples to the aid of Wen. The Patriarch of Sect Elucidatus also dispatched disciples to aid Jiang Sarn. Challenges of the abilities of Tao between these two sects escalated. Magic weapons (Dharmaratnas) and magic feats (Fa Shu) were displayed in the battle fields. Ten matrices of war were erected by disciples of Interceptus to test the abilities of the Tao of Elucidatus. Interceptus lost ground, and the Imperial Teacher died as he tried to escape. Both Elucidatus and Interceptus suffered great losses. More disciples from both sects joined in, with unbelievable display of magic weapons and feats, including the Terra Walker who could literally walk inside the earthen ground. Eventually all Patriarchs joined in, and all sects suffered great losses. The teacher of the three Sects, Eternal Prosperity, the Grand Master of Tao, appeared and ordered the three Sects to cease all hostilities. A decree of peace became a mandate. Henceforth all Sects would never be involved in human affairs. Jiang then launched a full scale campaign against the tyrant Zoe. Many free-lance Taoists came to the aid of Zoe, including some bioTaoists who used germ warfare. All efforts to aid Zoe ended in failure and eventually the army of Duke West encircled the city of Morning Song, the capital of Shang. People opened the city gates to let the revolutionary army in. Dar Gee escaped but was soon killed by the revolutionaries. In desperation, Emperor Zoe set fire to his palace and perished. King of Arms became the king of the new empire Zhou in 1046 BCE. Jiang Sarn then carried out one last mission: The resurrection of the war dead. They were all appointed deities to serve humans. A new era had begun.
