"Miracles Relied Upon" is the history of the People's Resource Center and its development from a group of people who set out to face a challenge and found that their approach led to the discovery of many more challenges. They first realized that a "community" approach multiplies the talents and efforts of individuals and then discovered that an entire county of almost a million people can be a community. Under the inspiration and direction of one woman, Dorothy McIntyre, and the dedication of those who worked with and followed after her, the People's Resource Center grew from an idea to a multifunctional organization that presently meets the needs of over 30,000 of its neighbors with the resources of their neighbors in DuPage County, Illinois. The most important "miracle relied upon" at the PRC is the spirit of community that continues to be its energizing force.
