Publisher's Synopsis

Sports Shooter is the story of Matt Zeigler, a photographer who travels throughout the Southeast covering the big three American sports. Along the way he visits interesting places and devises position specific techniques for photographing sports. The story, illustrated with 168 action-packed images, begins in 1991 when Zeigler meets legendary Erk Russell at Georgia Southern University, a master of improvisation who inspires him to shoot for the stars. Zeigler ventures to Tuscaloosa and Bryant-Denny stadium next for an SEC football clash. Zeigler then works briefly in Andalusia, a small town with a big time NBA connection in Robert Horry, putting him on a journey west to the 1994 NBA Finals in Houston. Zeigler also visits Birmingham to cover the summer of Michael Jordan's baseball odyssey; and for an Iron Bowl showdown at Legion Field. After relocating to Troy, Zeigler scrambles east over to Atlanta frequently to shoot sports icons like Joe Montana; Jerry Rice; Troy Aikman; Deion Sanders; Magic Johnson; Charles Barkley; Tom Glavine; Mike Piazza; and vintage Air Jordan! In addition to great athletes, Zeigler sees great teams in championship form, including the Chicago Bulls; Houston Rockets; Dallas Cowboys; San Francisco 49ers; Alabama Crimson Tide; and the Atlanta Braves.
