TWIST OF FATE tells the story of a gifted young woman as she fulfills her destiny and helps a vampire regain his humanity. The blood that runs in Wild Kennon's veins is the same blood that made her predecessors powerful. Coming from a long line of gifted women, Wild also possesses the magic of her lineage. By age ten, she discovers her ability to see the future through her dreams; she can also understand animals, which helps her form a strong kinship with them. As a grown woman, Wild leaves her home among the people who raised her and helped her develop her gifts. Her fate compels her to discover the world on her own and use her gifts to help others. When a vision leads her to a wounded vampire, Wild suppresses her reluctance and fear as she focuses on her purpose-to help others. It has never occurred in Silas Victor's mind that mere humans could nearly end his existence as a vampire. What makes him even more incredulous is the fact that another human-Wild-saves him and nurses him back to health. His astonishment, however, is overcome by an even more powerful desire when he realizes that he wants Wild to be his mate. Knowing that Silas is the one she is destined to be with, Wild embraces who he is despite the danger he poses on her life. But when another vampire arrives and threatens to send Silas to his end, with all her newly learned skills, Wild is able to destroy their enemy with unforseen consequences.
