Summer of '69 is about baseball in 1969. The New York fans, perhaps energized by the NY Jets winning Super Bowl III in January, 16-7 over the Baltimore Colts' football team. The Colts were coming a 34-0 victory in the NFL Title at Cleveland. The Jets were 18 1/2 point underdogs in the Super Bowl. The New York fans were also, treated to a surprise World Series title over the Baltimore Orioles, in October 1969. The Orioles went 109-53 (.673 Pct.) in the regular season. The Mets received great pitching from left handed pitcher, Jerry Koosman, who won two games and hitting from Ron Swoboda (.400 batting average) and Donn Clendenon, Series-MVP. Clendenon hit three home runs and 4 RBI's and had a .357 batting average. The Mets won in five games in all low-scoring contests that shocked major league baseball that year.
