In high school Delilah Massey was that girl--wild as a Texas tornado, she would do anything on a dare. Brody Dawson had always been attracted to the blonde firecracker and every mother in Happy, Texas, Brody's included, was glad to see her leave town. The same weekend that she left, old man Henry Thomas disappeared and hasn't been seen or heard from since. Talk had it for a while that there was something fishy in the way that they'd both disappeared.
Twelve years later, Brody walks into the only café in Happy and Lila is behind the counter. All the old red-hot feelings surface when their eyes lock over the display of doughnuts. Lila quickly finds out that those years had not erased what she feels when Brody Dawson kisses her. But they'd better not get too attached because she's only in town for the summer and there's no way he's going to leave the largest ranch in the county.
