Publisher's Synopsis

Library of Congress Control Number: 2010915394 This is a drawing book of six stories about homelessness to help your child develop positive attitudes about homeless people. To become involved mentally and emotionally, your child can draw pictures that correspond to parts of the stories. The child is also asked to talk about his or her emotions as they read the stories and draw their pictures. An opportunity to submit drawings for publication is included in this unique concept to raise awareness of homelessness. Instructions To Children On How To Use This Book 1. In the blank spaces on these pages, use a pencil with a good eraser to draw the words for people, things, places, and actions. You could try drawing the underlined words. 2. Draw whole people not stick people if you can. 3. When you read the words of this book and draw the pictures, think about what emotions you feel and tell them to someone close to you such as a parent or friend. 4. Think about things you would like to do for the homeless and talk about it with your parent. 5. If you would like your drawings to be considered for publication, send them to us with a note from your parents giving permission to publish your drawings in a book. If your drawings are chosen, we will send you a "Certificate of Recognition" and a free copy of the book with your drawings inside.
