Publisher's Synopsis
Miss Honour Fitzroy is fleeing from her cousin, Sir Edward Fitzroy, who is trying to force her into marrying his son in order to gain access to her fortune. When her carriage breaks an axle in the snow, she takes refuge at a house she believes is called Devil's Gate. There she encounters Major Ralph Duval, who develops a fondness for her and vows to protect her from her cousin. Will Ralph be able to keep her safe, or will Sir Edward's plan succeed?
