Publisher's Synopsis

Bird Boy by Ben Steinlage is an adventurous story of a 13 year old boy who finds himself in many terrifying situations. The first is the realization that he had fallen off something. While trying to remember what had happened, he finds that he doesn't know his own name. To make it worse he finds himself in the talons of a giant bird. It isn't long that he learns this bird is a Thunderbird, and that he needs the boy's help. With his new friends help in learning who he is, he is subjected to unbelievable adventures in New Mexico. He finds himself helping Indians relocate because of fire, and involvement in a battle between the large birds and dragons.

Author Ben Steinlage is a retired Printing Consultant that lives in New Mexico with his wife of many years. At the age of 8 he formed a love of writing, and he hasn't stopped. He also gained an interest in the Civil War accumulating many artifacts and books on the subject. With these two interests and his family's history, he wrote his first novel "Want to Go West Lady," followed by his second book "Edgar." Then with his grandson visiting him, he decided to write a novel in his honor. He combined this desire with his love for New Mexico and the Indians, who live there.

Passing the original manuscript around to readers, he has found there is an interest in this type of story. Now he is going on to write other stories that might be appealing to a young group of readers as well as writing other types of novels.

Note: The author also believes in writing stories that are suitable for family reading.
