A powerful and intricately woven story about a boy named Theodore. As a shy and reserved eleven-year-old he is perplexed by the world around him. He soon makes friends with another boy his age named David, and the two become best friends. Together they explore controversial parts of the adult world. At the same time Theodore also makes friends with his older next door neighbors who teach him about training beagle dogs and writing. He is soon faced with a dilemma of which path to follow. He has to decide to learn about the rabbit dogs, or doing drugs with his best friend. It is a difficult choice and he finds he unexpectedly has to grow up.
