Ein blühender Fortschritt der technischen Elektrochemie, deren Unterstützung und Förderung eins der Hauptziele dieses Jahr buches ist, wenn nicht das Hauptziel, ist natürlich undenkbar ohne den ebenso blühenden Fortschritt der theoretischen Elektrochemie, und diese ist wiederum vollkommen abhängig von dem Fortschreiten unserer physikalisch-chemischen Kenntnisse. Theoretische Elektro chemie und physikalische Chemie sind zwei unheilbar miteinander verwachsene Zwillinge, wollte man sie trennen, so wurden beide sterben, und mit ihnen die technische Elektrochemie.
