Au bout d'une annee, il en sortit, apres s'etre convaincu sans doute qu'il s'etait abuse sur ses aptitudes theologiques et sur ses dispositions au sacer doce: Ce n'est pas mon fait, ecrivait - il plus tard a sa femme, de raisonner sur des matieres spirituelles j'y ai eu mauvaise grace toute ma vie. Il semble qu'il y ait la un souvenir des insucces et des mecomptes du seminaire.
