Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Songs of Praise and Practical Life
The world is full of books, many of them worthless, which have been written purely for speculation. But in writing this little book I hope that a money consideration has had noth ing to do with it. My object has been to ben efit mankind and for the comfort of all Chris tians, that they might become more interested in the spiritual life, and be less wrapped up in the things of the world.
But there is a way in which I feel that I have been compensated already, and that is by the strengthening and comforting of my own mind in the consideration of God's love and care for His people. It has helped much in passing my remnant of days, and it occurred to me that if these things were comforting to me they might be to others.
