Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The History of Ireland, Vol. 3: From the Earliest Period of the Irish Annals, to the Present Time
On this very day, the Spaniards, having taken advantage of a change in the wind to tack about, had entered the haven of Kin sale and taken possession of that town, which was at once evacuated by its small English garrison. After their departure the gates were thrown open to the foreigners, the sovereign, we are told, with his white rod in his hand, going to billet and cess them in several houses, more ready than if they had been the queen's forces.
