Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The New England Farmer, 1860, Vol. 12: A Monthly Journal, Devoted to Agriculture, Horticulture, and Their Kindred Arts and Sciences
The lesson of the past season teaches us, that, as far as raising corn is concerned, the high, hilly and is best. Most corn on such land about here has ripened, while that on low lands has been a failure. Corn that was planted deep, stood the spring frosts better than shallow planting.
