Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Modern Dance for the Youth of America
The Dying Swan was typical of an art that found subject matter in romantic fancies. Like the ballet of which it was a part, it used a system of movement common to Russia, Italy and France. This tech nique was so systematized that the ballet dancer could go from one school of dance to another, and find that his techniques would serve him well in each, and that he could follow the instructions of his teacher without making fundamental changes in his style of movement.
